The B.Sc. Biotechnology (Hons.) is a four-year undergraduate program for students who are curious about how biology can be used to solve real-world problems. You explore cell biology, genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetic engineering, immunology, bioinformatics and bioprocess technology while building strong practical skills in the laboratory. The program connects scientific concepts with applications across healthcare, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, food technology, environmental science and industrial biotechnology, through projects, research activities, internships and advanced laboratory exposure.
Biotechnology offers opportunities across healthcare, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, agriculture, food technology, environmental management, research and life-science industries. You can explore roles in research, laboratory technology, quality control, clinical research, production and biotechnology products. The field also offers pathways into molecular diagnostics, bioinformatics, bioprocessing and emerging life-science applications.
Research methodology, molecular modelling, drug design, nanobiotechnology and biosensors, approached with the mindset to investigate genuine scientific questions.
Microbiology, cell biology, biochemistry and molecular biology, worked through in advanced laboratories rather than left to classroom theory alone.
