Admission criteria
Every programme is admitted on merit, through CUCET or an equivalent national entrance test. The general rules are below; the programme-specific requirement is printed against each course.

General Eligibility
Admission to UG and PG programmes is through the Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET), which doubles as the eligibility and scholarship test. Registering for CUCET is the first step of the application for every programme that requires it.

Merit basis
Students must have secured admission on a merit basis through the entrance test or the selection process of Chandigarh University as detailed in the prospectus.
National test equivalence
Scores from national-level entrance tests are recognised for scholarship assessment alongside CUCET.
- Engineering UG — JEE (Main) All India Rank
- MBA — CAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA or XAT percentile
- B.Arch — NATA score or JEE (Main) Paper II percentile
- M.E. programmes — GATE score, for the fellowship
Lateral entry
Diploma holders are admitted through the Lateral Entry Entrance Test, and their scholarship is assessed on diploma marks rather than 10+2 marks.
Marks calculation
Marks percentage will be calculated from all appearing subjects (including additional subjects) in the Detail Marks Card.
Bridge courses
Where a programme assumes background a candidate does not have — Mathematics or introductory computing, for instance — the university offers a compulsory 3-credit bridge course as per university norms rather than refusing the application.

B.Arch
10+2 with PCM (min 50% aggregate)
10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with either Chemistry or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies with at least 45% marks in aggregate or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 45% marks in aggregate. The candidate needs to qualify an aptitude test in architecture conducted either by NTA (i.e. JEE) or NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture.

10+2 in any stream (min 50% aggregate)
10+2 or its equivalent examination in any stream conducted by a recognized Board with at least 50% marks in the aggregate.

10+2 in any stream (min 50% aggregate)
10+2 with atleast 50% marks in aggregate or its equivalent examination in any stream conducted by a recognized Board / University / Council or three year diploma in any branch of Engineering/Technology/Architecture with 50% marks.

10+2 Science Stream (min 50% aggregate)
Candidate shall have passed 10+2 examination (with atleast 50% marks) conducted by the respective state/central government authorities recognized as equivalent to 10+2 examination by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology as compulsory subjects. Provided that a student should complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the course.

3-Year Engineering Diploma (min 50% marks)
Diploma in Pharmacy with 50% marks in aggregate from an institute affiliated to any university or any state Board of Technical Education provided that the diploma or the institute is duly approved by the PCI.
